Mbombela – Mpumalanga MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr. Sikhumbuzo Eric Kholwane has appealed to consumers to spend their hard- earned cash wisely during this festive season.

MEC Kholwane said consumers need to consider cash as the cheapest option for payment as it is interest free. The credit option has additional cost implications such as finance charges and interest.

EXCO TAKES DRASTIC DECISIONS TO INTENSIFY JET INITIATIVES AND PROVINCIAL PROGRAMME OF ACTION 

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane has deployed all Members of the Executive and Executive Mayors, to honour the legacy of the first democratic President, Mr Nelson Mandela, by making a positive impact in various communities throughout the Province. This year’s Mandela Day will be celebrated under the theme: “It’s in your hands” and a call to action for “Climate, Food & Solidarity”. The theme seeks to highlight the urgent challenges of food and climate change facing the people worldwide. 

The Provincial Women’s Day commemoration will take place in Nkomazi Local Municipality. The annual commemoration seeks to pay tribute to the more than 20 000 women of all races who marched to the Union Buildings on 09 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass laws. 

Mpumalanga Culture Sports and Recreation MEC Thandi Shongwe has outlined the Provincial Government's initiatives aimed at empowering women. 

Speaking on behalf of Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane at the Women's Day Provincial Celebrations in Boschfontein, Nkomazi Municipality, MEC Shongwe said in the labour market, barriers for women included structural and cultural factors, ranging from occupational and sectoral sex segregation to workplace discrimination and gender stereotyping. 

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane has embarked on an outbound mission to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The diplomatic visit is a direct result of the extensive deliberations within the Joint Trade Committee aimed at enhancing the bilateral relations between South Africa and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
