Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza has on behalf of the provincial government and the entire citizens of Mpumalanga conveyed his sincere condolences to the family of his colleague, Community Safety Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe, for the tragic loss of their daughter.

MEC Shongwe’s eight year old daughter, Sethu Shongwe, was knocked down by the car yesterday [Wednesday, 15 April 2015] afternoon at his hometown of Ermelo.

“One cannot explain the feeling of loosing the child. MEC Shongwe’s loss is our loss. His pain is our pain. Our MEC has been the true champion of road safety, it is indeed sad that he lost a family member through a road accident. May God give him and his family strength during this difficult time,” said Premier Mabuza.

The executive council is expected to visit MEC Shongwe’s family to pay their respect and show sympathy on behalf of the provincial government and the citizens of Mpumalanga.
