The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu will tomorrow conclude his engagement with the municipalities in Ehlanzeni District as part of his 100 days programme in office.
Premier Ndlovu has already interacted with municipalities from both Gert Sibande and Nkangala Districts respectively in an effort to understand the challenges that are detrimental towards service delivery.
In his engagements last week, Premier Ndlovu cited, the lack of bulk water supply, failure to generate revenue, lack of capacity to manage finances as well as poor leadership, amongst the complaints raised by the communities.
The engagements in Ehlanzeni will be attended by MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA), Mr. Speed Mashilo, MEC for Finance, Mr Bonakele Majuba, Executive Mayors, Members of the Mayoral Committees (MMCs), Municipal Managers, Senior Managers, the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and representatives of state agencies.
The Premier is scheduled to address the media at the end of the engagement to announce the nature of the intervention to support municipalities.
