The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu, accompanied by the MEC for Health, Ms. Sasekani Manzini will officially open another state-of-the-art Community Health Centre at Kanyamazane, to replace the old Kanyamazane clinic, in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.
The opening of the new health centre represents a significant development in the expansion of essential healthcare services. The establishment of the new centre has been necessitated by the growing demand of access to primary health care services. This is as a result of the growing population of Kanyamazane, estimated to 37,148, according to Stats SA.
The new health facility consists of ten (10) state-of-the-art consulting rooms. As the entry point to health care system, the centre provides a comprehensive and interrelated aspect of physical, mental well-being and an expansion of health services to the community.
Access to health services is a constitutional right and the Mpumalanga Provincial Government is investing massively into the establishment of health facilities, for the reaIisation of the aspiration. The facilities are in line with the National Health Insurance (NHI), designed to provide primary healthcare services which are universally acceptable and accessible.
Recently, the Premier and the MEC opened a state-of-the-art health centre in Pankop in the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality.
