Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison, MEC Gabisile Shabalala is sending her heartfelt condolences to the families of two people who died on R40 Road in Mbombela on Sunday, 9 June 2019.
One woman was killed after being involved in crash that occurred between two sedans and a motorbike on the same road on Sunday. Another man died after being allegedly shot by the police on the same day few hours after the crash.
Shabalala is also calling for calm in the community while police are investigating the matter. She has also welcomed the prompt response by Independent Police Investigation Directorate (IPID) to investigate the matter.
She added that the investigations needs to be urgently finalised so that all those who are implicated are dealt with accordingly.
