MEC Shabalala condemns tourists attack

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Gabisile Shabalala has condemned the recent attacks on tourists. MEC's comments followed several cases of hijackings and robberies experienced by some visitors to the province recently.

Five attacks on tourists occurred in the last few weeks in Graskop, Hazyview and Sabie areas. There have been instances where tourists experienced hijackings and some attempted hijackings in the above mentioned tourist attraction areas.

MEC Shabalala sends condolences for R40 crash victims

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison, MEC Gabisile Shabalala is sending her heartfelt condolences to the families of two people who died on R40 Road in Mbombela on Sunday, 9 June 2019.

One woman was killed after being involved in crash that occurred between two sedans and a motorbike on the same road on Sunday. Another man died after being allegedly shot by the police on the same day few hours after the crash.

MEC Ngomane welcomes life sentence for traffic cop murderer

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane has welcomed the sentencing of Alexander Mohoebi, a Lesotho National who murdered a traffic officer in 2016. Today, the Pretoria High Court sitting in Delmas Magistrate Court has sentenced Alexander Mohoebi to life imprisonment for the murder of Bongani Nkumba who was a traffic officer in the Mpumalanga Province for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison.
