Traffic law‑enforcement officers in Mpumalanga have arrested three motorists on the N3 toll road between Villiers and Heidelberg. All three exceeded the 120 km/h speed limit.
02 January 2026 – A 27‑year‑old male was clocked at approximately 169 km/h while driving a Volkswagen Golf 7. A case of excessive speeding was opened at Grootvlei Police Station.
02 January 2026 – A 34‑year‑old male was detained for travelling at 164 km/h in a Toyota Corolla. He was held at Groorvlei Police Station.
03 January 2026 – A 36‑year‑old male was stopped while operating a Mercedes‑Benz SUV at 174 km/h.
All suspects were released on R2 000 bail each and are expected to appear in court shortly.
