The Executive Council (EXCO) of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government will next week undertake a massive community outreach programme in Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality from 18 – 20 March 2026.

The Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu will lead EXCO Members, Executive Mayors, Councilors and Senior Managers during the outreach programme which aims to strengthen community engagement. The three-day programme includes an assessment of service delivery progress, a visit to government projects and a direct engagement with various stakeholders, including the business sector and the civil society.

Premier Ndlovu says at the core of the outreach programme is an opportunity for the community of Dr JS Moroka Municipality to engage the Provincial Government on pertinent service delivery issues, and for the latter to address impediments of service delivery. The outcome of the programme, according to the Premier, is government’s accountability to the community of Dr JS Moroka Municipality and participatory democracy.

The Dr JS Moroka Municipality is rurally-based and is situated within the Nkangala District in the north-western part of the Mpumalanga Province. High levels of unemployment, water shortages and housing backlog are some of the challenges that communities are grappling with.

The Mpumalanga Provincial Government will respond to the challenges. The outreach programme is arranged as follows from 18 – 20 March 2026;

  • Day 1 – Governance Day (EXCO Sitting).
  • Day 2 – Project visits and Stakeholder Engagements (09h00 – 16h00).
  • Day 3 – Premier’s Imbizo - Nokaneng Sports Ground (10h00 – 16h00).

Members of the media wishing to attend the Outreach Programme are invited. Please send your confirmations to Ms. Phumla Mokoena-Setwaba on 060 9988 781 or via email: mokoenapi@mpg.gov.za.
