A group of graduates who are now doctors and accountants are joining Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Pat Ngomane in his project to renovate Mdzabu Secondary School in Masibekela.
The project started last year in October after the MEC saw the condition of the school. It was built in the 1970’s and according to MEC; the condition was no longer conducive for teaching and learning.
The school has now been painted and new ceiling installed through donations that the MEC received from business people. The work was carried out by parolees from the Department of Correctional Service, parents of the learners and local people who were assisting on voluntary basis.
“Although there has been an improvement from how the school was, there is still more that needs that to be done; that is why I have decided to involve other people to come forward and assist. It is part of giving back to communities,” the MEC said. Some of former students at the school who are also graduates will join the MEC and make commitments to the project in a visit scheduled as follows:
Date: 04 February 2018
Time: 10h00
Venue: Mdzabu Secondary School, Masibekela (Nkomazi Local Municipality)
