The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Administration (DARDLA) in conjunction with Farmer Support and Development and the organised Agriculture will be hosting a Provincial Research Open Day later this week.
The event is aimed at providing an opportunity to small farmers in the region, to see trials and demo plots of crops grown traditionally as well as the performance of newly introduced crops. In addition, research divisions such as Aquaculture, Vegetables and Medicinal plants, Veld and Pasture Management and Animal Production will be displaying and demonstrating their projects at this event. The Research Open Day is an opportunity for the farmers and Extension officials to interact with specialists from national research institutes, universities and agro, who will also be displaying and demonstrating their research findings.
