Premier Mandla Ndlovu officially unveiled the 2026 Mpumalanga Premier's Cup at KaNyamazane Stadium — a flagship sport development and tourism tournament bringing together school sport, community clubs and professional football and netball teams.

"Today is more than the launch of a football and netball tournament. It is the beginning of a movement to unearth talent, unite communities, stimulate the local economy and inspire a new generation of sporting excellence," said Premier Ndlovu.
The tournament is a joint initiative between the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation and the Department of Education, creating a pathway from circuit-level school competitions through to provincial finals.
"A talented learner watching today's professional footballers could very well become tomorrow's PSL or Bafana Bafana star," the Premier said.
"We want every district of Mpumalanga to experience the economic benefits that accompany major sporting events," Premier Ndlovu added.
The tournament is proudly supported by SAFA Mpumalanga, the Mpumalanga Netball Association, the Mpumalanga Sport Confederation, municipalities, and professional clubs TS Galaxy FC, Kruger United FC, Casric Stars and The Bees FC.
"We are building dreams. We are creating opportunities. We are strengthening communities. We are investing in the future of our children," Premier Ndlovu said.
Let the games begin!
