Farmers from across Mpumalanga province have made their inputs during a one-day consultative session on the draft National Policy on Comprehensive Producer Development Support at the Middelburg Banquet hall in Steve Tshwete Local Municipality. The workshop, held on 18 December 2018, was conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in conjunction with the DARDLEA.

The main aim was consult farmers and producers for their inputs on the draft policy, including soliciting their advises. The policy is aimed at addressing inequality in terms of access, controlling and owning resources. Similar consultative workshops will be cascaded down to Districts in the province through roadshows in 2019, to ensure that more farmers make their inputs on the draft policy.
