The MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, Mr Andries Gamede is expected to meet all beneficiaries of Land Reform farms in Mkhondo Municipality with the aim to address challenges faced by Communal Property Associations. CPAs are land holding entities, who acquired land through the Restitution process. Currently there are 284 registered CPAs in the province.
In his Budget Speech on 05 August 2014, MEC Gamede announced that the Department will work closely with the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, with the aim to assist CPAs in electing new leadership and adopt new Constitutions, which will help overcome the challenges faced by many CPAs like the mismanagement of funds, internal conflict and those who refuse to vacate office.
State land Leases will also attend the meeting.
