35 new housing units have officially been handed over to families and tenants at Paardeplaats Farm in Emakhazeni. The beneficiaries who are part of the 35 households, have been living in mud houses at the farm, without electricity and running water, have surely viewed this initiative as a step towards restoring their dignity and basic human rights.
Acting DARDLEA MEC Ms Busi Shiba was part of the entourage when Deputy Agriculture Minister Mcebisi Skhwatsha and Human Settlements MEC Speedy Mashilo handed over keys to the rightful owners and occupants of the houses. 74-year-old Gogo Marinda Mahlangu, is one of those who received keys to a dignified new home.
