Media Statement

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane has condemned the false learnerships advertisements that are linked to the Mpumalanga Traffic Training College in Mkhuhlu. Ngomane says people should stop spreading false information using non existing job opportunities to attract the interests of unemployed people.

This follows the recent WhatsApp message that was doing the rounds that the department has issued an advertisement on the recruitment of people for of traffic learnerships.

He further stated that employment opportunities are advertised using legitimate newspapers not on social media spaces. “There is nothing wrong with sharing important information on social media but people should do so responsibly. Those who have interest in such opportunities should also verify authenticity of such advertisements.

Furthermore people should not pay any persons money for job opportunities because government jobs, learnerships or internships applications forms are not for sale. Communities should report to the police any people who are trying to solicit bribes from them under the pretext that they will place they will access employment opportunities,” added the MEC.

Ngomane explains that the department will inform the public when there are employment opportunities. According to the MEC, there are no job opportunities advertised currently by the department.

In that regard, MEC Ngomane has also warned the opportunists who are misleading people, stating that what they are practicing is not accepted and it is wrong to continue doing it. He added that such behavior could lead them to jail.
