Four people were killed this morning in a head on collission between an articulated truck and a sedan on R23 Road between Standerton and Val. The victims include the driver of the sedan and three passengers and are all males in their forties.
One person was seriously injured while two more passengers escaped with slight injuries. All the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Although the matter is still under investigation, dangerous overtaking is suspected to be the cause.
