The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport, Ms Mohita Latchminarain and MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Vusi Shongwe will table their Policy and Budget Votes at the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature on Tuesday, the 14th of June 2022 at 14H00.

MEC Latchminarain will highlight departmental achievements since 2021/22 and plans for 2022/23 financial year respectively. She will further focus on various interventions to deal with the effects of COVID-19 towards departmental operations including the acceleration of job creation through EPWP, construction of roads, healthcare facilities, schools and other public infrastructure projects as well as the provision of integrated public transport system amongst others.

MEC Shongwe is expected to reflect on crime prevention and road safety initiatives of the department. He will also outline plans to combat Gender Based Violence and crime challenges within schools such as bullying and gangsterism among others. Over and above this, the MEC will highlight some of the achievements and challenges of the department in the previous financial year.
