The Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation (DCSR) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Samkeliso "Sam Sam" Thubane for his outstanding achievement as a talented car spinner. Mr. Thubane recently showcased his exceptional skills on the global stage at the grand reopening of Hangar-7 in Austria.
Samkeliso who hails from Mbombela has won numerous spinning competitions around the country and most notable the TV show "So you think you can spin" where he came first beating 300 other contestants. He also won the "Redbull Shay'imoto" competition twice.
Affectionately known as Sam Sam, Mr. Thubane is a rare talent whose artistry and dedication to the sport of car spinning have earned him international recognition. His participation in this prestigious event has not only brought pride to his community but has also positioned him as a cultural ambassador for South Africa.
MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ms. Leah Mabuza, commended Mr. Thubane's accomplishments, stating: "Thubane has truly distinguished himself as an Ambassador of Mzansi through his participation in this international event. He joins the ranks of several Mpumalanga citizens whose talents have been acknowledged beyond our borders. Our province is rich in talent, and Sam Sam is a shining example of this fact."
Mr. Thubane's success is a powerful reminder of the potential that lies within Mpumalanga's youth. The DCSR remains committed to supporting and nurturing local talent to reach even greater heights.
