Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Jackie Macie, has condemned in the strongest possible terms the incident in which traffic law enforcement officers were filmed allegedly assaulting a man believed to be a truck driver on the N4 Toll Road near Komatipoort on Friday.
The video has since gone viral on social media. The MEC says law enforcement officers are expected to uphold the law at all times, whether on or off duty.
“We wish to condemn this incident in the strongest possible terms and further indicate that an investigation into the incident is already underway. Once the probe into this deeply embarrassing incident has been concluded, appropriate steps will be taken,” said MEC Macie.
