EXCO FILLS IN KEY POSITIONS IN TWO PROVINCIAL DEPARTMENTS
Efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Provincial Government are on-going in Mpumalanga. The latest appointments in two Departments reinforces the commitment to strengthen the state capacity to deliver services, as announced by the Premier, Mr Mandla Ndlovu when he marked the start of the 7th Administration two years ago.
On Friday, Premier Ndlovu convened the sitting of the Executive Council to take decisive decisions on fundamental service delivery and measures to improve the socio-economic conditions of communities in Mpumalanga. During the sitting, EXCO approved the appointment of the Head of the Department for Public Works, Roads and Transport (PWR&T) as well as two Deputy Director-Generals in the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA).
The appointments are as follows:
- Mr. Mikateko Rikhotso: Head of Department - Public Works, Roads and Transport.
- Ms. Linkie Mohlala: Deputy Director-General: Cooperative Governance Traditional
Affairs (COGHSTA). - Ms. Heizel Zitha: Deputy Director-General: Integrated Human Settlements.
The appointments are with effect from 1 August 2026.
EXCO says the appointments are aligned with the priorities of the 7th Administration, one of which is building of capable, ethical and developmental state.
