Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu, accompanied by Health MEC Sasekani Manzini, and the Executive Mayor of the City of Mbombela Sibongile Makushe-Mazibuko, today officially handed over 20 ambulances, five primary response vehicles, and 70 service delivery vehicles at the Mbombela Stadium.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Premier Ndlovu commended the emergency medical personnel and healthcare workers for their unwavering commitment and outstanding efforts in bringing critical healthcare services closer to the people of Mpumalanga.
The Premier further highlighted the province’s ongoing efforts to expand its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fleet, noting that Mpumalanga currently has 185 ambulances and is on track to achieve its target of 204 ambulances.
He added that the new vehicles will significantly enhance the province’s capacity to respond to emergencies and improve healthcare service delivery across communities.
The new fleet is expected to bolster emergency response times and support the provincial government's commitment to providing accessible, quality healthcare services to all residents of Mpumalanga.
