The Premier of Mpumalanga:Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane,MEC for Health,Ms Sasekani Manzini with SASOL Executives launched the Mass COVID-19 Vaccination rollout programme at SASOL in Secunda-Govan Mbeki Local Municipality.
The vaccination roll-out programme aimed to atleast reach and vaccinate approximately 19 000 people by the end of this week.
Sasol Executives were praised for their efforts to make a mark and be counted amongst other Private Companies that came-on board to join hands with government to fight the scourge of COVID-19 resurgence and save more lives against the deadly virus.
When addressing the launch,Premier Refilwe:Mtshweni-Tsipane said. "To continue the fight against COVID-19 the Non-Pharmaceutical interventions-such as wearing of the face-mask in public areas,the maintaining of social distance,the regular washing of hands with soap and water or the use of hand -sanitizer must be continued in our communities to contain the spread of COVID-19.
She further went on to express gratitude to various role players towards the fight against COVID-19.
"This has been possible through close collaboration between government, Private Sector, the Media and with the active support of other Social Partners that have contributed positively in distributing positive messages about the Vaccine.
Premier later applauded the department of Health in the Province for working tirelessly to ensure that this programme was prioritized to continue to accelerate vaccination programme so that ,the vast majority of the people can be vaccinated before the end of the year.
