Investment in infrastructure and skills development took centre stage as Premier Mandla Ndlovu met with the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), Eskom's transmission subsidiary, alongside Director-General Ms Maggie Skosana and provincial leadership. The delegation was led by Mr Mihle Khumalo, Senior Manager, who briefed the Premier on NTCSA's infrastructure footprint and investment plans in the province.
The engagement covered NTCSA's substation and transmission network across Mpumalanga, ongoing and planned capital projects, and efforts to expand energy capacity through renewable integration.
Skills development and youth empowerment remain a key priority on Premier Ndlovu's agenda for the province. NTCSA's presentation spoke directly to this priority, highlighting its commitment to skills development, localisation and community investment, with training, job placements and support for local SMMEs built into its project delivery model, alongside youth empowerment initiatives.
