Mbombela — The MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Ms. Makhosazane Masilela will host Enterprise Development seminars and exhibitions to empower the small business sector. These seminars and exhibitions are aimed to empower Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Cooperatives with skills, information and market exposure necessary to actively participate in and benefit from the local and global markets.
The Department will use these seminars to provide an enabling environment for MSMEs and Cooperative to grow through the provision of financial and non-financial services.
"As a province, we hold the view that MSME development remain the appropriate vehicle to drive the economic transformation agenda. Accordingly, we are going to use these seminars and exhibitions as part of our crusade to strengthen support to MSMEs and Cooperatives, and to even foster partnerships with the private sector so that a huge impact is made in the growth of these businesses", asserted MEC Masilela.
The Enterprise Development Seminars and exhibitions will include presentations and pop-up exhibitions by government agencies involved in enterprise development, the private sector and development finance institutions such as SEDFA, NEF, NYDA, and many others.

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism under the Mpumalanga Provincial Government, is mandated to stimulate economic growth and development in the Province, so as to create sustainable and decent employment, economic transformation and to alleviate poverty. The Department has three (3) Public Entities; namely, Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA), Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA), and Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER), to which it has delegated some of its constitutionally-mandated functions.
