Nelspruit: 14 January 2025 - The MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Jackie Macie and The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi will brief the media regarding the progress thus far in relation to the mass shooting incident. During the incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 11 January 2024, eight people were killed whilst three others sustained some injuries at a tavern in Pienaar.
One of the suspects, Bongani Patrick Nkosi (39), has already appeared at the Kabokweni
Magistrate Court.
The nation will be briefed by the MEC and the Acting PC on the developments of the case.
