Culture, Sport and Recreation MEC, Leah Mabuza warmly congratulates Linda Zwane on his co-option onto the COSAFA Executive Committee (EXCO), following the 2026 Elective General Assembly held in Harare, Zimbabwe, this past weekend.

“We are incredibly proud of Linda Zwane’s elevation to the COSAFA EXCO. This appointment is a significant milestone not only for Zwane personally but also for South African football and the Mpumalanga province. Zwane will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of COSAFA, the largest zonal union in Africa, as it continues to drive football development, competitions, and administration across the Southern African region,” said MEC Mabuza.

MEC Mabuza also extended her best wishes to the newly elected COSAFA President, Botswana’s Tariq Babitseng, Vice-President Alfred Randriamananampisoa of Madagascar, Dr Brenda Kunda of Zambia, and all other members of the Executive Committee.

The department reaffirms its commitment to supporting football development initiatives at all levels, from grassroots to elite, to produce more leaders and players who can excel on the continental and global stage.

Zwane is the current SAFA vice president and president of the Mpumalanga Sport Confederation.
