MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport in Mpumalanga, Mr. Thulasizwe Thomo, will on Thursday, 22 January 2026, officially introduce appointed contractors to the Nkomazi Local Municipality for the implementation of key road rehabilitation projects aimed at improving road infrastructure and accessibility for local communities.
The contractors to be introduced are for the following projects :
1. Rehabilitation of Road D2950 from Steenbok to the intersection with Road D797 in Ngwenyeni, covering a distance of 13.4 km.
2. Rehabilitation of Road D2940 between Phiva and Mdladla, covering a distance of 9.0 km.
The introduction of contractors marks a significant milestone in the Department’s commitment to upgrading road infrastructure, enhancing road safety, stimulating local economic development, and creating job opportunities within the Nkomazi area.
