Traffic officers in Mpumalanga nabbed eight more motorists on the N3 Toll Road between Heidelberg and Villiers yesterday (11 January 2026). The offenders were caught blazing past the 120 km/h limit, with the fastest hitting 188 km/h in a BMW sedan. Six men and two women were booked at Grootvlei Police Station for reckless and negligent driving, each granted R2 000 bail and set to appear in court soon.

A ninth driver was pulled over this morning (12 January 2026) at about 06:25, clocked at 165 km/h in an Audi SUV. He also faces a reckless‑driving charge and was released on the same bail.

MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie praised the officers, saying the crackdown should be the norm for anyone flouting the road rules.
