The Executive Council (EXCO), led by the Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu, will embark on a comprehensive outreach programme to the Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality this week. At the core of the visit is a direct engagement with local communities and various stakeholders to improve service delivery.

According to the socio-economic profile, the municipality’s population has increased from 83 000 in 2011 to 115 000 in 2022, and this contributes significantly to the high demand of services, mainly water, electricity, education and health.

In response to the rising demand of services, the Provincial Government is implementing a broad range of projects, including bulk infrastructure to improve the supply of water, the construction of sewer reticulation networks, an upgrade of sports facilities, and construction of road infrastructure. Currently, more than ten projects are being implemented, for the next two financial years.

The three-day EXCO outreach programme include site visits to key development projects, to develop intervention measures where challenges are identified. In addition the Executive will conduct stakeholder engagements, such as community structures, the business sector, traditional leaders, school government bodies, sports and creative art federations. This will culminate into an imbizo, where community members will engage directly with the Premier and Members of the Executive, to entrench public participation.

The three-day extensive outreach programme is outlined as follows;

  • Day 1 – Wednesday, 27 August 2025
    EXCO Meeting at Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality
  • Day 2 – Thursday, 28 August 20125
    Projects visits and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Day 3 – Friday, 29 August 2025
    Premier’s Imbizo, Vukuzakhe Sports Field.

Members of the media are invited to cover the programme, including the site visits and the Premier’s Imbizo.
