Support offered to traditional leaders to deliver service delivery remains key to the Mpumalanga Provincial Administration. The Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) together with Nkangala District Municipality will convene an annual Mayoral Address to engage with Amakhosi. Issues of focus will include amongst others, strengthening working relations and support between municipalities and Amakhosi and improved service delivery.
This address will provide a structured space for traditional leaders to discuss challenges, share status updates from local municipalities in the district and provide inputs for government policies related to the institution. It will also afford Amakhosi an opportunity on how local government is planning to work with in the future and provide them with support.
