The Office of the Premier today continued its programme of one-on-one performance assessments with provincial departments as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability, monitor service delivery, and improve government performance.
The assessments were led by Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu, supported by the Director-General, Ms. Maggie Skosana, senior management from the Office of the Premier, and senior management from Provincial Treasury to assess departmental performance and reinforce financial accountability.
Today's engagements focused on the Departments of Culture, Sport and Recreation; Community Safety, Security and Liaison; Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs; and Economic Development and Tourism.
The sessions were attended by MEC Leah Mabuza (Culture, Sport and Recreation), MEC Jackie Macie (Community Safety, Security and Liaison), and MEC Jesta Sidell (Economic Development and Tourism), together with the Heads of Department and senior management teams from the four departments.
The performance review sessions provided an opportunity to evaluate progress in implementing government programmes, assess financial and non-financial performance, and discuss practical interventions to strengthen implementation where necessary. The engagements also focused on improving coordination, resolving emerging challenges, and ensuring that departmental plans remain aligned with the priorities of the 7th Administration and the commitments outlined in the 2026 State of the Province Address.
Through these assessments, the Office of the Premier continues to monitor progress across departments, strengthen oversight, promote sound financial management, and support the effective delivery of quality services to the people of Mpumalanga.
