Dozens of destitute families will become new home owners in Elukwatini, in the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality. Through the Enhanced People’s Housing Project (ePHP) the Department of Human Settlements in Mpumalanga completed the construction of five hundred housing units. The beneficiaries, the majority of whom are women, are located across the 24 Wards in the Local Municipality. 

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane says the handing over of the housing units will mark as one of the milestone achievements in the Provincial Government’s efforts for the realization of government’s key priorities. “One of the pillars of the 7 key priorities is spatial integration, human settlements and local government. This project seeks to give effect to this pillar,” says Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane. 

The Premier will lead a hand over function of the houses, accompanied by MEC Speed Mashilo of Human Settlements, the Executive Mayors of Gert Sibande District and Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality, Cllr. Muzi Chirwa and Cllr. Nkosi respectively.
