Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will tomorrow lead the Provincial commemoration of the World Aids Day in Tjakastad, in the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality to mobilise support for the infected and affected victims of HIV and AIDS. The commemoration is held annually on the 1st of December and seeks to mobilize citizens to unite in support of those who are living with HIV and remember those who succumbed to the pandemic. 

This year’s commemoration will be held under the theme: “Working together to end inequalities, AIDS, TB and COVID-19” and seeks to destigmatize the pandemic and intensify the fight against discrimination of the victims. 

Prior to the commemoration function, Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will chair the Mpumalanga Provincial Aids Council (MPAC) sitting, a meeting co-chaired by both the provincial government and the civil society. The meeting seeks to coordinate the province’s response to HIV and AIDS, TB and STIs. 

The commemoration is arranged as follows:
