The Premier of Mpumalanga, Mr Mandla Ndlovu, is currently at the Nkangala District Municipality engaging with organisers of the planned march scheduled to take place in Mpumalanga on 30 June 2026. Joining the engagement are the MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Jackie Macie; Executive Mayor of the Nkangala District Municipality, Cllr Thomas Ngwenya; as well as senior government officials and law enforcement authorities.

The engagement forms part of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government's ongoing efforts to ensure that all public gatherings and demonstrations are conducted in accordance with the law, while promoting peace, stability and public safety.

The planned march has generated significant public interest, making continued engagement between government, law enforcement agencies and organisers essential to ensuring that the event proceeds peacefully and without disruption to communities, businesses and economic activity.

The Provincial Government remains committed to upholding the constitutional right to peaceful assembly while working closely with all stakeholders to safeguard public order, community safety and the wellbeing of residents and visitors across the province.
