The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu and the Speaker of the Provincial Legislature, Ms. Makhosazane Masilela will table the Policy and Budget speeches of the Office of the Premier and the Legislature on Monday, respectively.
The Premier will outline plans to strengthen the monitoring capacity of the Office of the Premier, while the Speaker’s address will focus on the Legislature’s oversight role over the Executive.
The sitting affords state institutions the opportunity to outline budget appropriations and the expenditure plans in line with their mandates. In addition they accord them the platform to account for recorded progress in line with previous plans and commitments.
Premier Ndlovu will also outline measures to implement the three priorities of the 7th administration, of driving inclusive growth and job creation, tackling poverty and the high costs of living, and building of a capable, ethical, and developmental state. The Premier will further focus on the implementation of the Mid-Term Development Plan (MTDP), a blueprint of the 7th administration that respond to the socio-economic challenges in the province.
Speaker Masilela’s focus will be on the Legislature’s measures to strengthen public participation and the oversight body’s work to conduct its function as the trusted ears and eyes of the people of Mpumalanga.
