Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu, today met with the executives of Thungela Resources, an independent coal mining company, at the EXCO Boardroom, where they introduced the company's recently appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Moses Madondo, to the Premier. During the engagement, Premier Ndlovu and the Thungela leadership discussed continued collaboration in community upliftment.

The discussion also covered the company's continued investment in the province, including expansion of its mining operations, as well as its social investment work, including skills development and small business support benefiting local SMMEs, and existing partnerships with the Departments of Education and Health.
Premier Ndlovu expressed appreciation to Thungela for its continued investment in projects aimed at uplifting communities in the province, and reaffirmed government's commitment to strengthening collaboration between the public and private sector in advancing the province's job creation targets and inclusive economic growth.
"We value the continued partnership with the mining sector, and we remain committed to ensuring that the benefits of mining activity are felt directly by communities in our province," said Premier Ndlovu.
The meeting was also attended by the Director-General, Ms. Maggie Skosana, members of the Executive Council, and senior management of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government.
