The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr Mandla Ndlovu, on Friday, 24 July 2026, convened the Premier's Coordinating Forum (PCF) at the Gert Sibande District Municipality.

Premier's Coordinating Forum: Driving service delivery across Mpumalanga

The Forum brings together provincial government departments and municipalities to take stock of how services are reaching communities on the ground, strengthen coordination across the spheres of government, and address obstacles affecting service delivery.

The sitting was attended by Members of the Executive Council, Executive Mayors, Traditional Leaders, the Director-General of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government, Heads of Departments, Municipal Managers, officials and representatives of Chapter 9 Institutions.

A number of Mpumalanga municipalities are currently affected by National Treasury's withholding of equitable share allocations, a measure applied to municipalities with outstanding debt or unfunded budgets. The Mpumalanga Provincial Government remains committed to working with affected municipalities to meet the requirements needed to unlock these allocations.

Premier Ndlovu reaffirmed the importance of the District Development Model (DDM) as the cornerstone of integrated planning in the province, with DDM Champions appointed in every municipality to strengthen oversight and accountability.

Concluding his address, Premier Ndlovu emphasised that the value of the Premier's Coordinating Forum lies in holding government accountable for the commitments it makes to communities.

"Today, our responsibility is to honestly assess whether the resolutions we adopted previously are being implemented and whether they are improving the lives of our people," said Premier Ndlovu.
