The Office of the Premier has officially opened applications for the Premier’s Discretionary Bursary Fund for the 2026 academic year. This initiative continues our commitment to empowering young people of Mpumalanga by supporting access to higher education and skills development.
The bursary programme targets:
- Learners currently in matric,
- Individuals who have completed matric, and
- Students already enrolled at recognised and accredited tertiary institutions within South Africa.
The aim is to assist deserving youth who have the potential to excel academically but lack the financial means to pursue their studies. Through this initiative, the Premier’s Office is investing in the province’s future leaders and driving the vision of “Mpumalanga, a Province that works for all.”
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a complete application package, which includes:
- An application letter
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copies of educational qualifications
- Certified copy of the ID document
- Proof of registration with a recognised tertiary institution (if applicable)
- Proof of residence
- Certified copies of death certificates (if parents are deceased)
- Proof of income of parents or legal guardians
