The Mpumalanga Department of Health would like to confirm that water supply has been restored at Rob Ferreira Tertiary Hospital. The hospital experienced water shortages over the weekend due to the burst of the main pipe within the hospital premises.
The department immediately deployed a technical team to assess and fix the faulty pipe, unfortunately the work was not completed on time yesterday because some clamps were not available to complete the work, hence procurement of the required clamps were done this morning (Monday).
Water is critical to any health facility, provision of health care should take place in a hygienically clean and safe environment which must always have clean running water. During the challenging time, the Department deployed a water tanker to supply the hospital to critical wards to ensure that the hospital provide critical and emergency services.
The department can confirm that the supply of water to the hospital has been restored, full services will immediately resume. The Department would like to apologise to the public, staff and stakeholders for the inconvenience caused.
