Mbombela – Mpumalanga Acting Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni and the entire Executive Council of the Province, will join the country and the world, in contributing their 67 minutes of doing good during the Nelson Mandela International Day, with the elderly people of Dr Pixley ka-Isaka Seme on Tuesday, 18 July 2017.
This year’s event is dedicated towards fighting poverty, hence the theme, ““Action against Poverty.
In November 2009, the UN General Assembly declared 18 July – the late former president, Nelson Mandela’s birthday – as the Nelson Mandela International Day, in recognition of his contribution to the culture of peace and freedom in the country.
The Executive Council will be accompanied by the Executive Mayors, Councillors, Traditional leaders and government senior managers.

Afterwards, the Acting Premier and her entourage will visit various government community funded projects and government buildings to interact with the beneficiaries, community members and government employees, and perform various activities as part of celebrating the day.
